If you’re considering how to pursue a career in with the Army without GCSEs, you can apply as a soldier or to a soldier apprenticeship (95% of soldiers choose to apply for an apprenticeship). To join as an Officer without GCSEs, the Army accepts Functional Skills qualifications as alternatives to GCSE grade 4’s. For instance, a functional skills level 2 qualification in mathematics and English is equivalent to a GCSE grade 4/C.
