Introduction

As an alternative to the free BKSB assessment practice test, we suggest the free Pass Functional Skills diagnostic tests. These diagnostics offer a thorough evaluation of a student’s abilities in both Maths and English, providing a more comprehensive option as a BKSB alternative for those preparing for BKSB Functional Skills assessments.

The Pass Functional Skills diagnostic assessments consist of two parts:

  • Initial Assessment – A tailored test that evaluates a student’s starting level before any revision, establishing their “baseline” knowledge. Upon completion, a recommended functional skills course is provided to guide their progress.
  • Subject Knowledge Assessment – This assessment covers all topics within the subject to gauge the student’s knowledge comprehensively. Upon finishing, specific topics for targeted revision are recommended. Each course features its own distinct Subject Knowledge Assessment.

Why take an alternative assessment?

For students familiar with the BKSB diagnostic, the Pass Functional Skills diagnostics provide a similar level of thorough evaluation, making it a great alternative to the BKSB English and Maths assessment. While the BKSB English and BKSB Maths assessments are well-known, Pass Functional Skills offers comprehensive coverage and targeted feedback to enhance study outcomes.

While the BKSB Functional Skills Initial Assessment is a paid tool for determining baseline knowledge, the Pass Functional Skills initial assessments offer a superior, free alternative. These assessments provide an in-depth evaluation of student readiness and deliver tailored course recommendations to facilitate effective and targeted learning.
